Equìa: Where bodies remember, and horses guide.

A body-centered path to healing through Equine-Assisted Somatic Experiencing®.

Horses live in embodied truth. They respond to what is present — not what is performed.

Their awareness is attuned to every subtle shift in energy, every change in breath, every movement in the field around them.

Equìa invites you into this same way of being.

In partnership with the herd, you step into a shared field of awareness and resonance—one where the horse becomes a somatic co-regulator, reflecting what is alive in your body and guiding you back toward balance.

This is not therapy, and it is not about fixing. It is an embodied remembering: a return to your natural rhythm of safety, connection, and flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I feel nervous around horses?
It’s natural to feel nervous—especially if you’ve never been around horses before. Their size and presence alone can evoke strong emotions. In Equìa, your comfort comes first. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe for you, beginning with simple presence and establishing safety in the pasture before going deeper.

What happens during a session?
Each session begins with a brief review of horse safety, followed by gentle check-ins and reflection questions to guide you inward. From there, you’ll spend time in the presence of the horses—sometimes in close proximity, sometimes simply sharing space at a distance. Physical touch with the horses is not required. Sessions conclude with an integration time, during which we reflect on your experience.

Do I ride the horses?
No. My philosophy of horse guardianship does not involve riding. Instead, our focus is on building a relationship with the horses—allowing their presence, boundaries, and truth to guide us. In doing so, we strengthen our relationship with ourselves.

What should I bring?
Please dress in layered clothing suitable for the weather, and wear closed-toe shoes for safety. Sunscreen, bug spray, and hats may also be helpful, depending on the season.
Where does this take place?
Equìa sessions take place at a beautiful ranch just outside of Austin, TX.

I don’t have any horse experience. Can I still do this?
You don’t need any prior horse experience—your time with the herd is about presence, not performance.

What do I bring?
As sessions are held outdoors, please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for being on the land.
